Straps are manufactured in Belgium and the Czech Republic and zippers in Finland, Poland and Turkey. Metal parts are sourced from a German wholesaler.

Our story

The name MUUTE  is a portmanteau of muutos (change) and aate (ideology), two Finnish words that contributed the most to the label’s creation. The label is owned by Annika, a young mother with a master’s degree in music who finds peace of mind in sewing bags in a historic brickwork vault. The word MUUTE can also be found in Annika’s middle name Erdmuthe , which is an ancient German name meaning Mother Earth that she has inherited from her grandmother.
